As a registered charity working with a very small team, ODCD has a need for both volunteers and donations to enable us to continue our work. You can find out more about how ODCD is funded by looking at the Our Finances page.
Our network of volunteers primarily provide friendship and support for the deaf or hard of hearing person they visit. They may sit, listen and have a friendly chat, or they may go out for coffee or a walk. Sometimes of our younger deaf people request sporting activities. Some volunteers visit fortnightly, but more commonly visits take place once a month or every six weeks.
If you would like to give a donation towards our work, this would also be greatly appreciated. Funds donated will help ODCD to expand its work, and provide more services for the deaf and hard of hearing in the Diocese.
You can also support our work by praying for us and by letting your church know about the work of ODCD. You may like to include ODCD as part of your church intercessional prayers, or take up a collection in aid of ODCD as part of a church service.
